Our Summer Daydream Movies

It’s getting to the point in the year where we’re all daydreaming of dipping our toes in the Mediterranean Sea.

If you’re ready to soak up nostalgic memories of summer romances gone-by, fear not, here’s your watchlist:

La Piscine (1969)

La Piscine captures perfectly the still and heavy air of the Mediterranean, with saturated tans, tension and stunning cinematography. It’s famously stylish, with a star-studded cast and glossy styling iconic to its day. If you’re looking for escapism, La Piscine is it.

To Catch a Thief (1955)

A bit like the lovechild of 'Roman Holiday' & 'How to Steal a Million', To Catch a Thief is an entrancing watch. Set in the French Riviera and with all the glamour that you’d hope for.

Let yourself get carried away with the beauty of it all.

Pierrot le fou (1965)

Oh to be in a forbidden love affair with Jean Paul Belmond. Along with Anna Karina, this iconic cast creates an enigmatic romance that fulfills any whirlwind romance fantasies you might have had. Plus, almost every shot is a work of art, that helps too.

Plein Soleil (1960)

In our eyes, anything directed by René Clément ignites a magnetic passion. And boy are we passionate about Alain Delon. The characters battle amorality, against a serene Italian backdrop, whilst Clément gives a masterclass in cinema.

(Keep your eye out for some outfits that inspired items in our Spring 25 Collection).

Honourable mentions

Believe me, it was hard to shortlist these movies. There's no denying our love for The Talented Mr Ripley (more to come on this one). Summer With Monika (1953) definitely reignites the passion we feel for summer in adolescence and its wild nature.

We will have to leave it there, because this list truly could go on forever.

With love,
