Apparel Care Guide

Please check the inner label of your garment to confirm the composition and recommended care instructions.

Knitwear

Due to the nature of knitwear, pills form naturally with wear. Remove carefully with a fabric shaver or comb.

WASHING

Handwash in cold water with a delicate/wool specific detergent, avoiding bleach or harsh chemicals. Do not use fabric softener. Avoid soaking, stretching and rubbing, as this can cause pilling.

DRYING

Gently squeeze out excess water, avoiding wringing the garment. Place on a clean towel, gently roll up and press the towel to remove excess water. Lay the garment flat to dry and gently reshape whilst damp, do not hang dry. Avoid tumble drying, as this can lead to shrinkage and distort the shape of the knit.

IRONING

If essential, steam on a low temperature setting at around 15cm distance from the garment.

STORAGE

Store knitwear folded to maintain the garment's shape. Folding helps to avoid hanger marks, pulled necklines and stretching.

Leather

Use a high quality leather cream to hydrate the leather and prevent cracking. Avoid direct contact with alcohol-based products (aftershave, perfume) and oil-based products (hair products, lotion, makeup). Ensure your skin is fully dry before wearing.

WASHING

Gently wipe clean with a damp, or dry, soft cloth. Avoid rubbing and do not machine wash. For more aggressive stains, consult a local leather care specialist. Spot clean the inner lining when needed with a gentle detergent and damp cloth, ensuring the garment is fully dried before storing.

DRYING

Keep dry where possible and remove excess water with a soft cloth if needed. Hang to dry away from direct heat, always avoiding irons, hardryers, heaters and tumble drying.

STORAGE

Store in a cool, dark and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Store on an outerwear hanger with wide shoulder shaping to avoid hanger marks. Do not store on a wire hanger and do not fold.

For long term storage of bags, we recommend gently stuffing with acid-free tissue paper and storing in a clean dust bag to help maintain the bags shape. Keep away from direct sunlight.

Faux Leather

Avoid direct contact with alcohol-based products (aftershave, perfume) and oil-based products (hair products, lotion, makeup). Ensure your skin is fully dry before wearing.

WASHING

Gently wipe clean with a damp, or dry, soft cloth. Avoid rubbing and do not machine wash. Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals.

DRYING

Hang to dry away from direct heat, always avoiding hardryers, heaters and tumble drying.

IRONING

Use a low heat setting to iron gently, with a pressing cloth. Do not apply heat directly on the garment, and always test on a small and inconspicuous area first.

STORAGE

Store in a cool, dark and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Store on an outerwear hanger with wide shoulder shaping to avoid hanger marks. Do not store on a wire hanger and do not fold.

Shirts

Some of our shirts are crafted with a seersucker that can look more pronounced after washing. When the fabric gets wet, the crinkles can appear deeper, sometimes making the garment look smaller than it actually is, much like how curly hair becomes curlier when wet. A gentle iron helps to relax the fabric and reduce the appearance of the deeper crinkles.

WASHING

Wash at a maximum of 30º to minimise fading and reduce shrinkage. Always wash inside out, with all zips or buttons fastened. Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals and avoid using fabric softeners.

Wash lights and darks separately to help prevent colour transfer. For bold colours, consider washing separately to avoid any colour transfer.

DRYING

Do not tumble dry due to risk of shrinkage and damage to the fibres.

IRONING

Shaking your garment when damp can be enough to remove creases. If necessary, iron or steam carefully and spray with water to ease out harsher creases.

STORAGE

Store in a cool, dark and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Ensure the item is fully dry before storing.

Denim

Denim can transfer to lighter colours, so it's best to wash on its own the first time and be careful around lighter coloured garments.

WASHING

Wash only when needed to help preserve the colour. Always wash inside out, with all zips or buttons fastened. Wash at a maximum of 30º to minimise fading and reduce shrinkage. Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals and avoid soaking denim. Refresh between washes by airing denim outside, ironing on the reverse, or steaming.

DRYING

Air dry inside out and away from direct sunlight, in a well-ventilated area. Do not tumble dry.

IRONING

Iron inside out on a medium heat.

STORAGE

Store in a cool, dark and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Ensure the item is fully dry before storing using a clip or bar hanger. Always fold along the natural creases to avoid permanent marks.
